Bridge To Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM)
Dan Zaharopol is the founder of Bridge To Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM), and he is so much more. Dan and his talented team have built BEAM into a nationally-recognized program that connects math-minded middle schoolers who attend under-resourced schools in New York City and Los Angeles with the advanced math community. Dan went to MIT, attended graduate school at the University of Illinois and has been an instructor at MIT, University of Illinois, the Boston Math Circle and Canada/USA Mathcamp.
A thirst for justice and equity motivates Mike Gross, the executive director of Genesys Works, New York City, to improve career opportunities for all children. Mike’s been a classroom teacher, founded youth leadership programs, and worked at New Leaders, Kaplan, SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) and the NYC Department of Education. Mike received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs, and received his M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management.
Alaina Harper is the Executive Director of OneGoal New York. A culturally responsive senior leader who prioritizes understanding the intersection of community, political context, and organizational goals. Passionate about leveraging education and advocacy to illuminate the power within communities as demonstrated through a career ensuring all young people have the opportunities and supports they need to succeed. A proven record of pairing data-driven decision-making with building and leveraging strong relationships to affect change.
Hallie Hanson is the Vice President of Development for uAspire's New York region, leading fundraising efforts to empower students in pursuing higher education. With a BA from Vassar and an MPP from the University of Michigan, Hallie brings a wealth of nonprofit experience, including roles as Chief Development Officer at Coney Island Prep and Senior Director of Philanthropy at UnboundEd. Based in Brooklyn, she finds inspiration in her family, including her husband and three children. Hallie is driven to create opportunities for underserved communities and break down financial barriers to education at uAspire.
